Since 2005 till 2012, Porsche has remained with its first generation of the Porsche Cayman model and had a facelift back in 2009 with a revised engine setup, aerodynamics and more. Yet still that wasn't enough for Porsche.
In 2012, a new Cayman was unveild at the Geneva Motor show, showing the new revised design of the completely new Cayman which was lower, faster, lighter, and better in all ways.
We had the chance to attend the launch event at Porsche Jordan, and to learn more about the car in real life, and trust us, it looks even better in person than in pictures.
As we said the new Cayman is a completely new car, the engine used has the same displacement but redesigned to be lighter, and more efficient.
Where the Cayman has a 2.7L flat six engine, that produces 275 horsepower, and can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds.
And the Cayman S with a 3.4L flat six, that produces 325 horsepower, and can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds.
The 2 seater, mid-engine beauty is definitely a cool car to drive, we've experienced a great time driving the older Cayman S and it handled really well and just had enough horsepower for its design.
Both Cayman and Cayman S are equipped with Porsche's PDK transmission system which is considered one of the best in the world.
A new feature to be applied in the Cayman is to have an optional adaptive cruise control system, which allows the driver to set on cruise control, but the car would still be aware of traffic around you and not give you a hard time.
What we thought was pretty cool in the front side of the new Boxster and the Cayman, that they're like what happens to be the result of the 918 Spyder and the Carrera GT having 2013 babies. pretty awesome isn't it?
We hope to get our hands on it some time, and see how it performs on our local streets.
So far now, the car is now available in the market, and you guys should check it out and see it for yourselves. Be safe!
